Irrational

It’s been four weeks since the program started properly, so it was time to measure my progress, literally and figuratively.

I re-measured my arms, chest, waist, hips and thighs. I tested my abdominal strength and my ability to do a pushup. I re-did the wall sit and the stretch.

And this morning I ran the 1km time trial. Last time I ran it in 4m58s.  This time I did it in 4m26s.

I was worried I’d slipped backwards. Which is irrational because on Monday I ran my first ever sub-30 5K. But I feared I’d gone backwards.

I haven’t.
